Narrative Summary

I've written TV scripts, sketches, fiction of varying lengths, short plays, essays, lesson plans, speeches, descriptive copy, and little bits.

As a teacher (or "adjunct professor" if you prefer the credential), I mostly work at local colleges. I designed the course "New London: Then & Now" which I teach at Mitchell College, and I also teach college writing and public speaking in the community college system. For adults (both professional and amateur), I teach comedy writing and performance. In the past, I've taught test prep, college guidance, algebra, programming, essay writing, and probably more things that I forgot.

For writing jobs, I've worked as a local reporter, copywriter, sketch comedy staff writer, in-house writer for a creative agency, and a ghostwriter on fiction and nonfiction projects.

I've also worked as an EMT, camping goods salesman, shelf stocker, event staffer, editorial clerk, quality control specialist, and historical interpreter. Probably forgotten some odd jobs too.

Without being paid, I've done organized forms of acting, voice-acting, improv, stand-up, organizing, and political canvassing.

Among my odd skills and hobbies are a functional knowledge of outdoorsmanship (Eagle Scout and avid hiker/camper), trivia (C- and D-level LearnedLeague competitor), computer programming (taught Logo and Java at a day camp, did 75-100 Project Euler puzzles), cooking (and making my own hot sauces), sports (mostly basketball), and pet care (as demanded by my dog). I'm getting a lot better at DIY, but never going to go pro (have a lot of Ryobi stuff).
